Lead guest editor
The Decision for submitted manuscripts were sent to authors. General re-submission information can be found in the Submission page. The lead guest editor for each journal is listed below, in case authors have additional questions during the revision or re-submission process:
- BMC BMC Genomics: Zhijin Wu
- BMC Systems Biology: Kai Wang
- BMC Bioinformatics: Xiaoming Liu
- BMC Medical Genomics: Degui Zhi
- BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making: Yaoyun Zhang
- Human Heredity: Junwen Wang
- IJCBDD: Yunyun Zhou
Poster preparation guidelines
If you submitted an abstract for poster presentation, please note that our suggested maximum size for poster is 36 inches (width) x 48 inches (height). However, if you already have a landscape-style poster, we will try to accormodate that as well.
Attendees may take photos of posters during poster presentation. Authors who do not want their posters to be photographed will have to indicate as such on their posters, with a "NO PHOTOS PLEASE" message at the top right corner of the poster .
Call for papers (closed)
The 2018 International Conference on Intelligent Biology and Medicine (ICIBM 2018) will be held on June 10-12, 2018 in Los Angeles, California, USA. You are invited to submit abstracts with unpublished original work describing recent advances on all aspects of bioinformatics, Systems Biology and intelligent Computing, including but not restricted to the following topics:
Systems Biology:
- Modeling and simulation of biological processes, pathways and networks.
- Mathematical and quantitative models of cellular and multi-cellular systems.
- Multi-dimensional omics data integration.
- Synthetic biological systems.
- Metabolomics.
- Self-organization in living systems (cells, organisms, swarms, ecosystems, etc.)
- Applications of systems biology approaches to biomedical studies.
Bioinformatics:
- Genomics and genetics, including integrative and functional genomics and genome evolution.
- Next generation sequencing data analysis, applications, software and tools.
- Big data science including storage, analysis, modeling and visualization.
- Personalized medicine and translational bioinformatics.
- Drug discovery, design and repurposing.
- Proteomics, protein structure prediction, molecular simulation and evolution.
- Image analysis and processing.
Intelligent Computing:
- Machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition and knowledge and discovery.
- Natural langue processing, literature mining, semantic ontology and date privacy.
- Neural computing, kernel, methods, feature selection/extraction.
- Evolutionary computing, swarm intelligence/optimization, ensemble methods.
- Manifold learning theory, artificial life and artificial immune systems.
Paper Submission and Publication:
Prospective authors are invited to submit unpublished work to ICIBM
2018. All papers and abstracts will be submitted through EasyChair
Conference System. Detailed information is available soon.
By submitting your paper to ICIBM 2018, you implicitly state that the
paper is based on your own original research and that it was not and
will not be submitted elsewhere. All submitted papers should be written
in English. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the
authors to register and present the work associated with the paper
submitted.
All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed. The accepted papers of registered authors will be published in special
issues of several journals, including BMC Systems Biology, BMC Genomics, BMC Bioinformatics, BMC Medical Genomics, BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, Human Heredity and International Journal of Computational Biology and Drug Design (IJCBDD).
Authors need to prepare manuscripts in the format of the corresponding
journal that they prefer. Although we try our best to accommodate
authors’ preferences, the competition is high and there is no guarantee
that all accepted papers will be published in authors’ preferred
journals. We will contact individual authors in that case. The authors
agree to pay the publication fees to the journals (there is no
publication fee for the papers published in IJCBDD). Participants who do not submit papers are encouraged to submit an abstract.
The size of the poster board is 3 x 4. Please ensure that your poster is within the range. Posters will be displayed on each side of the poster board.
Travel Awards:
We will offer 20 travel awards to students/postdocs through a NSF grant. The students/postdocs who are the first author of the papers/abstracts are qualified for the application.
